Medicinal chemist focused on the development of enabling technologies for drug discovery. Extensive experience in the design of high-throughput platforms for the synthesis of small molecules and protein conjugates (including ADCs). Co-author of over 50 patents and publications.
• Founded and led the Medicinal Chemistry Technologies group at Takeda San Diego. • Built a high speed, high throughput library synthesis operation to reduce discovery cycle times. • Maintained and managed the “machine farm”, a collection of advanced synthesis & purification equipment. • Introduced SFC for in-house chiral screening and separations; provided assistance for other intractable separations.
• Founding member of the Lead Generation Technologies group. • Developed high-throughput methodology to prepare antibody-drug conjugates. • Designed and built a state-of-the-art high throughput purification platform. • Developed in silico tools to enable the rational design of libraries. • Conducted x-ray guided fragment based drug discovery efforts. • Primarily focused on the therapeutic areas of neuroscience and oncology.
