As head of audience development at group level for the world's largest independent production company, I headed up strategy for both YouTube and Social Media. Tasked with building an audience facing team, I swiftly put together a team and infrastructure to execute on my strategy which saw profits and viewership soar. Highlights included growing the Mr Bean channel from 27 million monthly views to over 160 million monthly views during my time at the company as well as launching new and explosive channels such as Big Brother Universe.
As well as channel management of a suite of YouTube channels (see YouTube Executive position below) I now oversee operational and editorial strategy for BBC Worldwide's network of YouTube channels.
I am channel manager for four of BBC Worldwide’s YouTube channels, including some of the world’s biggest TV brands, and I cover everything from clip selection to compliance. I have been certified by YouTube in Audience Growth and my daily goal is to engage with and grow YouTube audiences and engagement. I am an expert in audience development, YouTube SEO, digital right management, promotion and collaboration. My major achievements include growing the Top Gear channel by millions of subscribers and launching the official Doctor Who channel.
From an entry-level Sales Support Administration role at BBC Worldwide I was rapidly promoted to the role of Sales Executive where I licensed BBC content to some of the largest VOD and DVD companies in EMEA. Here I worked with some of the biggest media distributors in EMEA and built great personal relationships with clients from all over the world, many of which I am still in contact with today and for whom English is not a first language.
At DD Home Entertainment, my main duty as production assistant was to quality check DVD material before it went into production. I was then headhunted to work in the marketing department.
