I have been an entrepreneur for most of my adult life and have built businesses in Consumer Health, Biotech, AgTech and Climate Tech, created market leading products, entirely new product and regulatory categories as well as novel market mechanisms and led several successful exits. I am a relentless enthusiast by nature. If I see potential in an idea, a business or a technology I will go the full distance until I have made the most of it. Even if it starts at zero - ESPECIALLY if it does! In my past and my current roles, I have managed to keep dreaming big, aim high and constantly innovate in every field I have worked in. My energy and effort have led me to where I am today: Creating, leading, guiding, shaping, nurturing businesses and people that work on providing solutions in areas of massive impact on humanity. Today, I am particularly focused on chronic wounds and impaired healing — an area of healthcare whose human, clinical and economic burden remains far too under-recognised. This sits within my broader work of building and supporting science-led ventures across human and planetary health, including biotechnology, antimicrobial resistance and climate innovation. Across these fields, my focus is on translating high-conviction science into disciplined, investable and scalable businesses capable of delivering meaningful real-world impact. Never in my life have I been in a better position to make a contribution to creating impactful solutions to massive global issues than in my current role. It’s the perfect set-up for someone who dreams as big as I do.

Mariposa Therapeutics is dedicated to the discovery and development of therapies for keratin related diseases. Keratin is the main structural protein in your skin. It maintains its rigidity and helps with the barrier protection that the skin offers. Dysregulation of keratins gives rise to multiple diseases, characterised by loss of skin integrity, blistering and hyperkeratosis, and can predispose inflammatory disorders of internal organs. Together keratin-related diseases, including Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex, Pachyonychia congenita and psoriasis, represent a huge disease burden and current estimated market of $30 billion. Mariposa’s first product is a keratin-inducing disease modifying therapeutic for the first keratinopathy to be identified – Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex

From modest beginnings 30 years ago as a niche contract research business, Neem Biotech has come of age. What started out with R&D around a neem tree and its medicinal purposes has now grown into a drug discovery company, focused on combatting antibacterial resistance. Today, we discover novel assets and de-risk them by taking them up to the pre-clinical development stage before spinning them out into subsidiaries focused on distinct therapeutic applications. To fully leverage our unique position in antimicrobial R&D, we are undertaking an exciting anti-virulence approach to discover novel small molecules by utilising our expertise in bacterial-host interactions and coupling this with the exciting approach of fragment screening to discover novel compound programs.
