A resilient and highly motivated Biomedicine graduate who has a strong work ethic, keen to further develop my skills through commitment and an enthusiasm to extend my learning. During my placement year, I have spent a year at MAC clinical research in Merseyside. While on placement I have learn so much about running and the day to day of studies in clinical research. At working at MAC clinical research, I have spent most of my work on psychedelic research working with psilocybin, LSD and MDMA. This has exposed me to new frontiers of solutions to mental illnesses with a company to pioneer it. Furthermore, I have added many skills since on my placement which I will be able to use in my everyday life. I believe my work in the pharmaceutical industry has allowed me to work in an environment which I am at the front line working with patients to dispense the drugs that they need and given me a greater understanding on pharmaceutical drugs.
Increased my awareness and understanding of the role of a pharmacist, the pharmaceutical industry and distributors, which will be valuable in my career aspirations. Gained knowledge in a range of different drugs and their use for different symptoms. Further developed my communication and customer service skills by speaking to many clients. Gained experience in time pressured decision making and further developed my organisational skills.
Cared for my auntie, who had dementia, during COVID-19 after my uncle passed away. Responsible for her daily care, including preparing meals, ensuring she took her medication, helping her with stairs and keeping her company. Increased my understanding of the emotional impact of dementia and new drugs that deal with certain genetic diseases.
Part-time job which in a high-pressure environment in which time management, organisation skills and flexibility was extremely important. Due to my reliability, hard-work and commitment, I was trained alongside the chef and prepared meals during busy periods.
