Responsible for IT infrastructure design, upgrades, and implementation for construction, real estate, relocation, and workplace transformation projects across KPMG US offices. Lead technology planning and delivery for local office IT environments, including MDF / IDF design, network infrastructure, structured cabling, wireless, servers, power, cooling, UPS systems, and related infrastructure components. Manage multi-million-dollar IT project budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities across projects of all sizes. Partner with real estate, facilities, internal IT teams, architects, engineers, general contractors, electricians, low-voltage vendors, AV teams, and other stakeholders to ensure technology requirements are properly planned, coordinated, and delivered. Responsible for IT infrastructure design, upgrades and implementations for construction and real estate projects in 90+ offices across the US. Data center design and planning from the ground up for all local office IT services. Manage multi-million dollar IT budgets on projects and identified cost savings tactics for even the smallest of projects. Well diversified in skills and often called to assist other internal IT groups with major projects as needed. Able to pick up new skills quickly to easily adapt to a fast changing environment. Able to think out of the box to insure that projects are delivered on time, on or under budget and meet the technology expectations of the project. Network LAN management ■ Planning, design, procurement and hands on rollout of Cisco switches, routers, WAPS from start to finish. Summary of Major Project Work at KPMG: Server Administration – Install and configure Windows physical and virtual servers remotely using PXE boot and VMware virtual center. 2-3 servers per week were deployed from queue into the central data center. Centralized Data Center Move – Assisted with cabling, switch configuration, KVM setup and server connectivity in the new state of the art 30,000 Sq ft data center facility. Distributed Novell server migration to EMC centralized servers - Led team of thirty resources responsible for the retirement of 300+ Novell servers located in 95 locations across the US. The migration included the transfer of all data, rights, NDS account matchup with Windows domain credentials and verification of rights and data. Custom solutions were created by project team to accommodate the phased approach to migrate the live data and rights with only a 12 to 24 hour outage window per site. Bearing point IT separation project – Project encompassed separation activities for KPMG and Bearingpoint at a total of 63 shared locations and impacted approximately 7500 BearingPoint employees . Oversaw and coordinated the separation execution in the following areas: IT Facilities for each site (IDF / MDF), LAN/WAN Resources (servers, switches, etc.), and 802.1x and Port Security in shared locations Americas Account Support Program – Acted as an interim AASP manager while fulfilling normal role. Managed the implementation projects and technical duties related to providing firm engagement teams with connectivity and server solutions at client locations. Cabletron to Cisco Switch – Led migrations for multiple locations within the firm. Desktop OS Migration Projects ■ Windows 3.11 to Windows XP – Regional responsibility to upgrade machines ■ Windows XP to Windows 2000 – Led national team to automate upgrade for 30,000 laptops
Lead projects ranging from 2,000 square ft to 800,000 square ft with multi-million dollar IT budgets. Typically manage anywhere from 10-15 office build outs or other infrastructure related projects yearly. ■ Design IT room layout for power, cooling, rack elevations, and everything else contained within the rooms to provide to architects for plan integration ■ Full power and cooling requirements completed for equipment to determine UPS and tonnage of AC required. ■ Complete architectural plan review and develop low voltage plans to show cable drop locations for network equipment throughout the site ■ Creation of predictive analysis for Wireless access points locations ■ Low voltage cabling / IT Room RFP creation, submission to vendors, review / award of contract and management of execution from start to finish for vendor ■ Specification and procurement of switch, router, server, UPS, PDU, ATS and cooling equipment needed onsite ■ Work closely throughout project with Real Estate team, internal operations (ION), architects, mechanical engineers, construction general contractor, electricians, low-voltage cabling, building management, AV, furniture, security, DAS and other subcontractors to insure successful coordination, scheduling and completion ■ Data circuit procurement coordination – Management of process to get WAN circuit ordered, installed, as well as onsite to do the work for the physical router / switch installation and configuration to bring the site online to the KPMG network ■ "Getting hands dirty" - Have diverse skills to not only plan, design and coordinate the site build out, but also complete the build out from start to finish onsite for network hardware, network configuration, Wireless network configuration, UPS install and configuration and cooling configuration. Managed full IT infrastructure build out for the $450 million, 55 acre, 800,000 square foot, 800 hotel guest room learning, development and innovation center designed exclusively for KPMG partners and professionals in Florida over the course of the multi-year project. ■ Designed / managed / executed build out of all equipment in (39) IT closets, (938) Cisco switches (models: 9500, 9410, 9300 and (800) guest room 3560-CX switches) and (1350) Cisco wireless 3802 access points onsite including configuration and documentation. ■ Responsible for overseeing build out of all vendor installed fiber and cabling onsite ■ Assisted with the roll out of AV, voice, security, digital signage, DAS and BMS ■ Managed the roll out of 40 UPSes onsite ■ Multi-vendor management and coordination - Architects, Cable Vendor, Construction General Contractor, Electricians, Mechanical Engineers, 3rd Party Hotel operator, DAS, and voice vendor
