Seit dem 1. Februar 2024 bin ich CEO der ArcelorMittal Bremen GmbH und der ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt GmbH. Die europäische Stahlindustrie steht wegen schwieriger Rahmenbedingungen vor gewaltigen wirtschaftlichen Herausforderungen, denen ich mich gern gemeinsam mit meinem Team stelle. Meine Aufgabe erfordert turn around Massnahmen zur Reduzierung laufender Verluste, emphatisches Teammanagement, strategisches Denken, innovative Lösungen wie künstliche Intelligenz und digitale Zwillinge, Finanzmarktkenntnisse sowie Hartnäckigkeit und Konsequenz bei der Umsetzung. Since February 1st 2024 I have the pleasure to be the CEO of the German steel plants ArcelorMittal Bremen and Eisenhüttenstadt. The steel industry faces profitability challenges due to high energy prices and CO2 certificate cost burdens exclusively in Europe. My team and I are engaged to manage the challenges successful. The task requires turn around measures to cut losses, emphatic team management, strategic thinking, innovative solutions like AI and digital twins, financial capabilities and market knowledge as well as tenacity and consistency in execution.
-managed the financial holding for 80 entities in Germany -€ 10 billion turnover, 10,000 employees -ensured in time annual closure IFRS and German gap -ensured liquidity for all German ArcelorMittal entities -German representative of ArcelorMittal to government
-€ 5 billion turnover, -6000 employees, -realized restructuring and loss cut by half from €160 million to €80 million in year one, and from €80 million to €40 million in year 2, -established a change management program for staff to deal with decarbonization requirements -implemented AI and digitization initiative for planning, scheduling, production and logistics, digital twin for whole steel mill -lobby activities on local, state and federal level leading to €1,3bln subsidies for Decarb program
