As Managing Director, I was carrying the overall responsibility for Admenta Sweden AB (pharmacy chain branded “LloydsApotek”; turnover ~150m€, market share 3,8%, 79 pharmacies, ~400FTE). My superior objective was to lead Admenta Sweden towards growth, profitability and therefore long-term value creation. The path towards growth was to develop an innovative and compelling competitive customer value proposition and operationalizing this in a highly competitive and regulated market environment with internal and external resource constraints and in the same time respecting the governance and compliance needs of an internationally active parent company. Part of my role was the ongoing evaluation of strategic opportunities to leverage our market position with a major acquisition or partnership. I understand that a leader needs to be able to work efficiently and effectively through others. Selecting the right staff and setting up the right structures, processes and follow-ups aiming to involve and empower every employee in the company are crucial elements in the creation of high performance teams and eventually of being organizationally successful. The Swedish environment with the high cultural expectation of involvement has proven to be a great leadership school.
Admenta Sweden AB (established 2009) is operating under the brand of LloydsApotek a 'greenfield' pharmacy chain of 79 pharmacies in Sweden with the ambition to become one of the leading pharmacy operators on the Swedish market. Our mission is to "Inspire more positive lives". As member of Celesio AG, Stuttgart, LloydsApotek is part of the European Pharmacy Network and thereby benefitting from the scale of one of Europe's largest pharmaceutical distributors. As Finance Director and member of the Senior Management Team of Admenta Sweden AB I carried the overall responsibility for the accounting and controlling departments of Admenta Sweden AB. The finance department as partner to the business sees itself as "positive troublemaker" and acts as the economic conscious of LloydsApotek.

Celesio AG has divested the activities in the Czech Republic in 2012.
