I lead the development and implementation of DOMO’s global sustainability agenda, from operations and value chain decarbonization, to product & sales strategies, to regulatory compliance (e.g. CSRD), to ESG ratings and reporting. I report directly to the COO; I regularly present to ExCom and board. I manage a team of 3 people.
As the global decarbonization lead of Bekaert, I collaborate with various BUs and departments (including procurement, engineering, sales, finance, etc.) to drive the decarbonization strategy and implementation. My primary focus is to implement our sustainability targets in an efficient and financially optimized manner while also capitalizing on green premium pricing strategies to stimulate revenue growth. Concretely, I cover a wide range of topics: • Strategy setting & implementation: 2030 to 2050 decarb strategy & roadmap, SBTi target, capex estimation & allocation, green funding/subsidies, internal carbon pricing • Increasing revenues: green premium pricing, volume growth through new customers & products • Reporting & data mgmt: Sustainability rating (CDP, ecovadis, ...), CSRD, external communication, standardized digital CO2 data & initiative tracking • Procurement: on-site solar/wind, (v)PPA, certificates, green steel • Global energy efficiency program for plants: diagnostic, implementation, impact tracking • Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) [Makersite, Gabi] • Policy development: CBAM, EU ETS, EU Taxonomy • Awareness creation amongst colleagues: organizing trainings & info sessions
• As expert consultant, I advise both senior and non-senior clients combining functional expertise and business knowledge. My main expertise is sustainability strategy, helping clients in setting and reaching a sustainability target to unlock value. I have a particular focus on decarbonization and energy efficiency with deep technical knowledge of all types of equipment (boilers, furnaces, turbines, etc.). In addition, I am experienced in technical debottlenecking and regularly apply machine learning & big data • I lead McKinsey analysts and client-teams of up to 5 people and I advise our clients at CxO level • In-between projects I drafted several winning tenders and co-developed various digital tools, e.g. equipment efficiency (OEE) benchmarking tool • I consult clients globally (Mexico, Colombia, Qatar, Turkey, France, Italy, etc.) and across several industries (chemicals, metals, oil & gas, mining, etc.)
