I enjoy all aspects of the project process - from initial inception, through the validation and implementation stages. I thrive when expanding my experience, and developing my skills in new areas. Director from inception of a charitable company set up to distribute profits from an associated construction company to aid in the development of the health and education sectors.
Project managed a wide range of projects including: - ‘Transport Emissions Reduction Pathway’ targeting 64% reduction in Auckland’s transport emissions by 2030. Managed multiple scope changes to be delivered to tight timeframes. - Streetscape redesign for the Karanga-a-Hape City Rail Link train station to support access for the expected 10,000 passengers a day once operational. - MRCagney’s involvement in the Auckland Light Rail detailed business case, New Zealand’s future largest transport infrastructure project. Led a review of company process and systems for work acquisition and project management. Captured staff feedback and managed rollout of streamlined processes. Site lead for a rapid company intranet rollout (four months from inception to launch).
Mechanical engineering tender for Contract 3 of Auckland City Rail Link, New Zealand’s largest transport infrastructure project. Managed rapid tradeoffs and targeted solutions to maximise delivered value and meet output targets over short 27 week tender period. Building services lead for $800,000 project from early design to construction. Responsible for team of 6 discipline leads and 20 engineers. Project delivered on time, meeting the client’s stringent design criteria and requirement for attention to detail. Mechanical engineering design of University of Waikato centrepiece building ‘The Pā’. Lead engineering team design coordination across four core disciplines. Interfaced with key stakeholders to develop a tailored solution balancing flexibility, practicality, aesthetic and cost. University of Waikato site wide system masterplanning. Advised on future systems integration to manage increasing student numbers and maximise site efficiency. Facilitated team culture events to develop communication, relationships, behaviour and psychological safety. Team 10% above overall company satisfaction in subsequent survey.
