Originally from South Africa, and with a varied background (philanthropy and financial outsourcing services), I joined Stonehage Fleming's Global Equity Management team in December 2011. I now head up our Client Servicing team for the Global Best Ideas Strategy. We seek to own the world's best-in-class businesses which exhibit a strategic competitive edge. These companies need to evidence sustainable organic growth, management of the highest quality, efficiency and strong free cash flow generation. Since joining, when we managed in the region of £300 million, we have grown to now manage c. £3.3 billion across our flagship UCITS Fund (Stonehage Fleming Global Best Ideas Equity Fund), white label funds and a segregated book. It has been hugely rewarding and challenging being a part of this expanding team over the past 14 years.
