Representative Experience: Representing one of the world’s largest multinational pharmaceutical companies in medical device litigation matters before U.S. District Courts and the US International Trade Commission. Overseeing and managing patent portfolio for one of the world’s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space, and security systems. Overseeing and managing medical device patent portfolio for one of the world’s largest multinational pharmaceutical company. Defending Alice type patentable-subject matter attacks before the US PTO. Authoring numerous opinions related to infringement, non-infringement, validity, invalidity, and un-enforceability. Overseeing and developing patent portfolio of industry-leaders in the areas of: industrial power tools; amorphous ribbon fabrication, network power systems, and large/medium voltage switchgear. Prior to joining MBHB, Mr. Wettermann worked for a Fortune 100 company as a marketing and sales engineer, designing and marketing variable-frequency-drive and programmable-logic controlled systems utilizing pulse width modulated technology, primarily in the pulp and paper, HVAC, machine tool, textile, and waste water industries.
Obtained invalidity, un-enforceability, and non-infringement decision in favor of Swiss bindery equipment manufacturer after a three-week bench trial. Decision affirmed by the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC).
Acting principally as an Applications Engineer, designed and marketed Adjustable Frequency Drives and Programmable Logic Control System engineered power transmission systems. While earning an MBA, maintained success as a member of Eaton’s “Goalmaker’s Club” (meeting or exceeding yearly targets) and "Pinnacle Club" (top 10%) for four consecutive years. Awarded divisions fourth largest engineered project ($1.6M) while managing initial project design, tracking change orders, preparing original Responses to RFX,s, and supporting after sales/installation. Appointment, training, and supervision of distributors, agents, system integrators, sale representatives, and service/startup engineers.
Awarded a two-month electrical and electro-mechanical apprenticeship, with emphasis on electo-mechanical Minimal Invasive Surgical Technologies.
