I am well versed in the RFQ process, as well as evaluating RFQ's, and negotiating with bid participants. I interface with teams at the plant level in the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe to develop find carriers that will deliver our freight on time at the best price possible. I handle all commercial activities relating to onboarding plants in North America onto the TMS that is being rolled out. I work with the operations team to train plant personnel, suppliers, and carriers. I also an heavily involved in solving operational issues that arise, whether they relate to the TMS or otherwise. I am the primary escalation contact for our 3rd party freight bill audit and pay companies, and I solve carrier/forwarder payment issues and ensure that contracted rates are available for FBAP audit. I report freight spend to accounting, finance, and the wider supply chain management organization and I resolve any issues that arise with the reporting. I also enjoy looking for opportunities to optimize our freight network, so I spend a substantial amount of time analyzing FBAP and TMS data to determine if there are opportunities to create efficiencies. I am also have a great deal of experience evaluating whether or not a carrier is a good fit for an automotive supplier and I curate contracts (MTA's) with carriers that we onboard/have an existing relationship with.
