Creation and implementation of a carbon reduction plan aiming at transporting 25 % of DHL GF NL containers on the road using a sustainable alternative to fossil diesel. After extensive research on all the different alternatives, Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) was selected and further assessed for direct implementation in the Netherlands. HVO is mainly produced in the Netherlands using Used Cooking Oil (UCO) and enable up to 90 % co2 emissions reduction compared to fossil diesel (B7) currently used by trucks. Thanks to this research, the objective of this assignment was achieved in January 2022, with 25 % of DHL GF containers monthly transported using HVO instead of fossil diesel enabling enormous co2 reduction.
