Oversee all the business and medical aspects of a solo, independent Ob-Gyn practice. Maintain the EHR, incorporating UpToDate and PDR Online at the point of care. Establish electronic preventive health reminders and tracking of test results. Coordinate call coverage with four other Ob-Gyn physicians. Develop and maintain a practice website and Facebook page. Develop some of the newer laparoscopic MIS techniques through cases with local preceptors and courses with Dr. Steve McCarus in Celebration, FL, and Dr. Kate O’Hanlan in San Francisco, CA. Built an independent, private Ob-Gyn practice from the ground up, including the design, construction, and furnishing of a free-standing office building. Performed gynecologic surgery and high-risk as well as family-centered deliveries at both hospitals (Greenville Memorial and St. Francis Women's Hospital), and additional Gyn surgery at two GHS satellite hospitals. Served a total of 4 years on Quality Assurance and two years on the Nutrition Committees at SFHS, and 2 years on the Infectious Disease Committee at GHS. Served on the boards of directors of the Carolina Youth Orchestra and Birthright. Volunteered with the Greenville Free Medical Clinic. Played violin with the Foothills Philharmonic under Dr. Gary Robinson, and principal violin in the Taylors First Baptist Church orchestra.
Established the first Ob-Gyn practice of Optimum Physician Services, the vertically-integrated network of SFHS. Working closely with the director of OPS, witnessed firsthand the intricacies of transitioning private physicians to an employment model. Participated in the bylaws committee. Designed the Ob-Gyn space for the Simpsonville Family Care Center, which comprised family practice, pediatric, and women's health.
Supervised Ob-Gyn residents in the Ob and "Teen" clinics. Interviewed and examined patients, interpreted diagnostic testing, and formulated treatment plans in conjunction with nurse practitioners, nutritionists, diabetic educators, and social workers in a team environment.
