Thomas completed his studies in technical cybernetics and automation technology in 1994 with a Dipl-Ing. in electronics. After several years in industry, he returned to Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in 1998 as a research assistant. In 2003, he received his doctorate in engineering in computer science and computer arithmetic. Together with Dr. Gunnar Gnad he founded abaxor engineering GmbH in 2008. abaxor is an engineering company for electronics, FPGA design and embedded software.
