Supervise operations and maintenance for complex flood control system consisting of three lake projects, a dry dam and a run of the river dam along with eight levee systems. Lead a staff of 13 in keeping aging dams operating and protecting steak holders and downstream constituents.
Position is a Federal Citation Officer under the Northern Federal Court of West Virginia. Serve on Glenville State College Academic Curriculum committee. Continue to serve as Secretary of Glenville State College Environmental Science Advisory committee. . Planned, coordinated and presented the Lakes and Rivers Division pilot SPEAR self defense program to a PROSPECT Vistitor Assistance class in MVK in May of 2015. Have organized the 2015 Huntington District Defensive Tactics Instructor workshop to be held in late October.
Aided surveyors with courthouse deed research for use on boundary surveys. Completed a required 40-hour HAZWOPER certification training. Assisted with creation and placement of permanent reference points on the Licking River Stone Slope Protection project. Worked with COE Construction Supervisor, contracted Construction Technicians, and lead Engineers to revise and update project plans after a high water event. Assisted with monitoring railroad crossing twice each week to ensure equipment has not caused damage to the rails with use of a survey transit and prism pole. Provided needed Material Safety Data Sheets to proper individuals. Gathered river soundings for use in monitoring river channel and calculation of stone amounts needed. Surveyed excavation piles for calculating and tallying cubic yard amounts removed. Assisted in data transfer and interpretation.
Responsible for gathering of information and maintenance of project traffic counters for entry into VERS. Supplied volunteers with cleaning supplies, fuel for mowers and trimmers, and safety signs to post when activities were being performed which resulted in 15,384 hours and $288,757.68 in volunteer services for the 2007 recreation year. Updated and organized project Material Data Safety Sheets, annual Hazardous Materials Inventory, and associated reports. Aided other staff in the completion of inspections for cleaning, interpretive, and law enforcement services to assure government Quality Assurance.
