Overview of position: - Provides Support on Safety issues to Regional/OpU leads and other stakeholders. - Develops Safety Standards, tools and requirements. - Executes the High Hazard and Contractor Safety Programs. - Provides technical support on Safety matters to Takeda operating sites The key accountabilities of the Lead role in Global Safety include: - Support the EHS business partner and provide Safety technical advice for the Engineering partnership. This includes collaborating on various Engineering initiatives to ensure alignment with EHS objectives and strategy. - Manage the Serious Injury and fatality (SIF) Program with the Regional/Operational Business Unit(OpU) leads to ensure consistent global implementation and drive engagement with and reporting of potential Serious Events. - Identify Organizational issues and underlying causes to make judgements; develop and recommend viable alternatives that support the EHS strategy. - Provide support to the Regional/OpU EHS Heads for any issues related to High Hazard Programs, Process or Contractor Safety. - Develop safety standards, tools, and guidelines to help Takeda meet global EHS regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the development and the implementation of the strategy, programs and priorities related to process safety and in particular: • Define, coordinate, implement and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) Systems; • Manage the sites PHA schedule and recommendation implementation plan together with the sites; • Coordinate, participate, review and/or Lead PHA on existing and new processes (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, Bow-Tie) on all aspects from planning to execution, documenting and regular revision; • Identify, implement and monitor PSM through pertinent indicators and figures to track the progress of PSM on a regular basis; • Work with engineering and technical departments for safety function (SIL, safety PLC, PLr) studies and provide guidance on technical and process safety requirements associated (ATEX, pressure equipment - PED); • Lead process safety projects simultaneously with minimal direction and be the referent for process safety related matters; • Provide guidance regarding technical compliance requirements (machine guarding and safety function, ATEX zoning and equipment ad equation, ...) • Conduct and lead process safety incident investigation (RCA) and reporting for incidents and near misses; Provide expertise and support for new projects, new investment of management of changes (on existing or new activities, process, installations, ecc.), in particular: • Assist the site EHS Managers, site managers and projects managers in process safety permitting with government authorities and or in preparing and submitting reports as required by governmental regulatory agencies and industry associations; • Provide oversight / review capital projects / new / modification projects for Process Safety aspects within the Stages & Gates and/or through Management of Change (MOC) Processes; • Provide oversight / participate and/or conduct audits / inspections or reviews of equipment and installations for Pre Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and/or on requirements

Support, assurance and provides expert advise on all matters related to: • Effectively administer Workplace Health and Safety Management Systems as per BS OHSAS 18001:2007; • Implement, develop and conduct compliance and/or H&S Audits (Lead Auditor 18001); • Experience in the preparation and writing of safety reports in establishments subject to major accidents hazards (Control of Major Accident Hazards – Seveso III), implementation of major accident prevention policy document and safety management system (SMS), detection and management of safety critical equipment (SCE); • Hazard identification services, perform advanced levels of PHA using HAZOP (Hazard and Operability analysis) and HAZID (Hazard Identification analysis), FTA and ETA techniques; • Risk assessment services, perform complete Semi-Quantitative & Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA); • Air dispersion modeling (CALPUFF / CALMET ) uses information about sources and meteorological conditions to calculate how a pollutant moves through the atmosphere and what the pollutant concentration is at specific points • Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) and equipment compliance (API, NFPA, IEC standard) and take organizational and / or technical measures in order of priority and document the measures in an Explosion Protection Document (EPD); • Conduct Thermographic Analyses (RINA 2nd level op); • Perform Health and Safety analysis and risk assessments on worksite; • Control and periodic monitoring of Materials Containing Asbestos; • Expert in energy performance of buildings (EPBD) on both civil and industrial sectors, energy performance certificate, energy audit to identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency;
