I started in automotive media, but made my way into the defense automotive industry after I obtained my undergraduate electrical engineering degree. Shortly after, I worked in the consumer goods industry as a software engineer. Finally, I made my way back to automotive, this time in system integration. While working as a full time engineer I went back to school to get a MSE in Automotive Systems Engineering taking classes such as Energy Storage Systems and Electrical Aspects of Hybrid Electric Vehicles. I currently work on state-of-the-art brake systems for vehicles with advanced powertrains and self driving technology. I adapt ZF slip control products and associated control algorithms to a specific vehicle application. I also ensure that all relevant areas of the control algorithm have been reviewed and optimized, and acquire and process test data to support product release milestones. Finally I use the data as evidence that the slip control system meets internal and external requirements for a particular release.
Designing, developing and testing highly reliable, electronic control software for use in large consumer appliances. Collaborating with electrical design engineers to ensure the product design will satisfy consumer, trade partner and Whirlpool requirements projects.
Project: complete and test a pending controller design. Upon completion the design was tested, proven, and given the green light for further development. Senior engineers exclaimed that its performance “exceeded expectations.” Additional tasks included assisting senior engineers with various technical duties and equipment testing.
