About

Thomas is an experienced organic chemist and science leader who has been working on industrial projects at CSIRO for over a decade. He currently leads the Continuous Flow Catalysis Team in the Manufacturing Business Unit of the CSIRO in Melbourne, Australia. The team focuses on developing catalytic process technology for chemical manufacturing and energy applications. He aims to enable the innovation, creativity and inclusion of all team members. He has delivered practical manufacturing solutions to produce chemicals, polymers and catalytic materials using flow chemistry techniques. He has also led successful industry funded projects and has expertise in developing chemical processes from concept through to production. His current research interests include carbon capture and utilisation (CCU), hydrogenations, 3D printed reactor components, decentralised/mobile plants, and operations for the Hydrogen Economy.
