- Led 45-members department responsible for regulation and oversight of safety of French nuclear power plants. Established regulations, granted authorizations and drove inspection plans in direct face-off with EDF’s senior management levels - Directed high stakes projects, such as identification and implementation of lessons learnt from Fukushima accident; oversight of construction and licensing of Flamanville EPR; assessment of possibility of continued operation of EDF’s nuclear fleet beyond 40 years; assessment of ATMEA-1 basic design - Increased ASN exposure to stakeholders, informed the public via media and contributed to and/or drove international negotiations (EU, IAEA) and high-level seminars for ASN or as an official IAEA expert with numerous countries (Brazil, China, Finland, India, Romania, Russia, USA, UAE, UK, Vietnam) - Coordinated field work performed by ASN’s regional offices
- Led a 30-members department responsible for oversight nuclear activities in Normandy: AREVA La Hague reprocessing plant, 8 operating reactors, 350+ facilities using X and gamma-rays (hospitals, industrial and research facilities), EPR reactors - Granted authorizations, drove inspection plans and enforced laws in direct face-off with large unit COOs
