I am a recent graduate of the Boston College Carroll School of Management, studying Management with concentrations in Finance and Accounting for Finance and Consulting, and a minor in History. I am a critical thinker who utilizes information from a broad range of disciplines in order to make informed decisions, and pride myself on this wide range of knowledge. I am eager to utilize and expand this knowledge in future endeavors.
In this role I executed a variety of different responsibilities, including but not limited to pall bearing in funeral services and valet parking for funeral visitations. As a result of this position, my communication skills, discipline, and professionalism were all further cultivated as I helped to facilitate a smooth and efficient commemoration of life. Working over two summers, I experienced a clear, linear increase in responsibilities and autonomy within the job, continuing to expand my interpersonal skills on a daily basis.
Within this Private Equity Analyst Intern role, I was responsible for a number of different tasks and roles focused around finding and evaluating acquisition targets in specific infrastructure industry niches. Primarily, I conducted in-depth industry analysis and company research, evaluating these potential acquisition targets on a mixture of quantitative information using publicly available financial metrics as well as more subjective qualifications, adhering to specific investment criteria. As a result of my research, I garnered a list of more than 200 potential acquisition targets and created bespoke outreach campaigns for each company, garnering a 16% response rate - above the average seen in comparable campaigns. Outside of these primary responsibilities, I additionally performed financial modeling for potential acquisition targets upon reviewing confidential information memorandums, which were presented to management to inform investment decisions. Throughout this entire internship, I further cultivated my financial modeling, financial and non-financial industry and company analysis, research, and communication skills.
Within this role I guided groups of more than 15 elementary students through games and activities, assuming a leadership role under the camp director throughout the process by helping to lead the other ten counselors. Challenged with ensuring the campers’ safety, comfort and cooperation in a cold outdoor environment, I learned valuable skills in leadership over my peers as well as maintaining a position of authority despite unpleasant circumstances.
I tutored a 4th grade student in math, language arts, science and history in a role where I acted as a mentor to the child both academically and athletically. Along with this, I provided general child-sitting duties such as care and driving, expanding my skills in cooperation, patience, and most importantly, collaboration.
