Cybersecurity is more than a profession for me, it is a passion. I was inspired to pursue this field after experiencing a cybercrime myself, and I am determined to prevent others from suffering the same fate. That is why I joined Okanagan College as an IT Security Analyst, where I work with a team of network and system administrators to safeguard the college's data and infrastructure from cyber threats. In this role, I perform security audits, monitor network traffic, and respond to incidents, using my skills in network administration, network security, and cybersecurity. I also leverage my knowledge of Python and command line to automate tasks and develop scripts. I have a diploma in Network and System Administration from the Centre for Arts and Technology, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Thompson Rivers University, where I learn about the latest technologies and trends in cybersecurity. My goal is to become a cybersecurity leader and a futurist, who can anticipate and prevent cyberattacks before they happen.
