The leitmotif of my professional career so far is chalcopyrites based thin-film photovoltaics (PV). Along its value chain up to the certified module, I was allowed to work in nearly every field it has to offer, from basic and applied research, process development and integration, equipment design and commissioning, to Ramp-Up and monitoring production. Along this way, I had to apply a vast variety of techniques and methods, from time-consuming structural investigations with synchrotron radiation to fast statistical process control (SPC) of an ongoing production. What all these positions had in common was the necessity for cross-divisional and collaborative teamwork as well as educating colleagues while, in return, learning a lot from them. So, working at interfaces became natural to me. Currently I'm in search of a challenging new position, not restricted to the PV-industry, where I can contribute my knowledge and skills most effectively,
Monitoring of a thin-film production line by means of statistical process control (SPC), data mining, and analytical methods. Uncovering potentials for enhancement of key performance indices. Development of algorithms for the quantitative prediction of transitional effects during production and operation of thin-film photovoltaic modules.
Monitoring the Ramp-Up of a Turn-Key production line for thin-film photovoltaic modules. Training of customer employees on data analysis and data mining. Planning and organization of the material flow for Ramp-Up.
Team leader Analytics & Simulation. Development and application of analytical methods for production control of thin-film photovoltaic modules. Preparation of scientific publications and presentations to the board. Acquisition and management of joint research projects.
Team leader thin-film metrology. Application and development of in- and off-line metrology for production control and technology enhancement. Communication of the Ramp-Up progress of a Turn-Key thin-film photovoltaic module production line with the customer. Acquisition and management of joint research projects.
Set-Up and management of laboratories for production and characterization of epitaxial and polycristalline thin-films (compound semiconductors and related layers). Planning, building and operation of HV and UHV deposition systems. Supervision of diploma and doctoral thesis's. Acquisition and management of joint research projects. Assistant lecturer (experimental physics) and supervisor in practical courses.
Management and operation of the surface-science laboratory (XPS/UPS/AES) at the Institute for Physical Electronics (IPE). Management of joint research projects. Supervision of diploma and doctoral thesis's.
