Head of Market Regulatory & Advocacy | Division Material Science

Ingelheim am Rhein, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

About

Since October 2025 I am responsible for market regulation and advocacy subjects in the Division of Material Science at Budenheim, a globally operating specialty chemical company. Before I led the global Innovation and Application Development team within the Division, especially focusing on the development and use of phosphorus and nitrogen-based flame retardants, which is reflected in numerous patents and industry contributions. After serving as Vice-Chair of the association for non-halogenated phosphorus, inorganic and nitrogen flame retardants (pinfa) from 2017 – 2025, I was appointed as Chair in October 2025. I have profound knowledge on flame retardant technologies, fire safety and related sustainability challenges, particularly in the context of regulatory compliance and circular economy. My knowledge is based on a deep understanding of organic chemistry and material science, which I developed during my academic education at the University of Regensburg, where I earned the PhD.
