Commercial day to day operations include the co-ordination of barge movements and depot stocks in an inland supply portfolio. Close liaison with Traders, Channel & Product Optimisers, HCDM’s, and other Commercial Oil Operators to ensure the supply-chain is kept feasible in the most cost efficient way and that all contractual and operational obligations arising from the contracts are carried out. What a COO does: -Maintains Shell’s stock in the allocated locations within specified limits (target stocks) and contractual requirements, striving to minimise working capital & transport costs whilst meeting HSSE and legislative standards. -Maintain stock projections for each product at each location for a rolling period of six weeks. Arrange deliveries of product to pipeline and rail fed customers as required. -Execute the monthly Supply plan and generate a detailed replenishment programme for each of the modes. -Play an active part in the S+OP process, contributing information about logistical constraints and opportunities -Liaise with source refineries, terminals, pipeline operators, CO’s and commercial oil operators to ensure replenishments are accomplished optimally when the need to react to both internal and external events occurs. -Be responsible for setting and the communication of volume restrictions when product shortages occur. -Manage operational aspects of the Supply and Terminal agreements with third parties. Act as interface between third parties terminal operators. -Capture non-conformance, supply, quality and HSSE incidents. -Authorise payment of invoices for the area of individual responsibility. -Ensure nomination errors are cleared and processed within KPI time constraints
Prepare standard physical oil sales contracts for movement via vessels, truck and railcar sold on Incoterm 2010 basis. Reviewing & amending physical purchase contracts. Minimise Greenergy’s exposure in regards to Laytime and Demurrage costs in a contract which involved chartering a vessel or our Counterparty chartering vessels. Communicate with in house departments to ensure efficiency. Maintain good working relationships with counterparties and brokers to ensure smooth transactions. Ensure Greenergy is fully and legally protected by all agreements.

Contracted to develop & implement a new inventory management system for large industrial catering sites. Determined causes and developed resolutions to address pilferage and wastage of high value stock. Identified solutions to optimise stock requirements and reorder cycles. Training and induction of new staff to utilise the system. Developed performance and cost reports to be presented to management.
