About

Throughout my years attending Iowa State University, I have had amazing opportunities to develop skills inside and outside my career pathway. Within Aerospace Engineering, I was fortunate enough to serve as a Business Development intern at Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita, Kansas, over the summer of 2022. Within the internship, I expanded my horizons through experience in engineering and business, learning aspects of business in relation to the engineering process and learning engineering through its integration into business development. Because of my specific position, I worked directly with the program manager for the nacelle program I was within, which helped teach numerous lessons throughout the summer. During my third year at Iowa State, I served as the Project Manager of Boeing Manufacturing, a Make to Innovate project posed by Boeing to Iowa State University’s M2I program. As the Project Manager, I oversaw the progress and development of a team of students. The position also allowed me to work with a Boeing advisor and meet with professionals in the workforce, including committee professionals who have had experience at Boeing, NASA, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Collins, Spirit AeroSystems, and Textron. The greatest gifts from the position were learning how to manage a project pertaining to Aerospace Engineering, meeting professionals who can offer insight into industry expectations, and learning how to keep team morale up in the face of adverse challenges, further increasing project efficiency. Outside of Aerospace Engineering, I serve as the President of the Inter-Residence Hall Association (IRHA,) the largest student-run Residence organization on campus, representing over 6,000 students. After serving as the Director of Leadership during the previous year, I campaigned and won the election to represent IRHA as the President. Within the role, I preside over the Executive Council and coordinate meetings throughout the year, involving both Executive Council members and faculty members, including the Associate Vice President of Campus Life and Director of Residence, the Director of Dining, and a Coordinator of Campus Life. I work with my Vice President to assist them in presiding over Parliament; I monitor the Directors of Events while they organize events across Residence; and I work with the Director of Communication and Director of Leadership to help make their events and activities successful throughout the year. These skills give me an edge and a diverse skillset unmatched by most engineering peers and excite me for my career journey.
