The Sussex Shores team and I were responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of beachgoers by monitoring the water, providing immediate assistance during emergencies, and enforcing water safety. Additionally we took our guarding skills to competitions all along the delmarva coast. Our crew of 14 won national medals in Virginia Beach against the Baywatch patrols of LA county.
My position as a lifeguard at the Audrey Moore recreation center required me to be certified in CPR and competent in emergency response protocol. As per county regulations my co-workers and I were constantly tested to make sure we were alert and ready to respond to any situation on the pool deck.
