      I represent the PEI in the Coordination and Harmonisation of the Existing Systems against Shortages of Medicines – European Network (CHESSMEN) Joint Action. We are participating in the following two work packages: WP7: Digital Information Exchange for Monitoring and reporting medicine shortages WP8: Reducing the likelihood of medicines shortages via preventive and mitigation strategies In addition to the CHESSMEN project, I am the PEI's primary representative in the Medicine Shortages Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Working Party.

      At the newly established Centre for Pandemic Vaccines and Therapeutics (ZEPAI), I contributed to the German response to the COVID-19 and monkeypox pandemics. This work included managing the distribution of pandemic vaccines, building databases for supply chain data and communicating with stakeholders (national & international). I am most proud of being responsible for the development of new vaccine demand models.

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, Prof Bernard Van der Zeijst and I provided a weekly updated overview of the race to develop a COVID-19 vaccine. We tracked the development of the most promising vaccines based on clinical trial publications, press releases and other publicly available information.
