Released AWS HealthOmics Workflows, a new AWS service for genomics processing. Onboarded and led team of 8 engineers working on genomics “engines”, concurrent compute orchestrators written in Python and Groovy. Advised 20+ engineers across 3 teams on genomics engines and AWS compute.
Full stack development project for API Gateway team. Designed and built serverless Java backend fronted by React. Used by dozens of developers on team to track code deployments.
- May 2019 - May 2020: Project Manager of PacBot team. Led team of eight students in designing/building maze navigation robot with PCB components and Python control. Organized inter-collegiate robotics competition with six teams building PacMan playing robots - May 2020 - May 2021: Co-President of club, focused on leading teams to conduct effective remote work during Covid
Applied machine learning research focusing on animal pose estimation under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Mathis. More info here: https://www.mathislab.org/people - Used TensorFlow Slim in Python to incorporate different convolutional neural network backbones into DeepLabCut. Ran extensive experiments regarding pretraining on ImageNet (Publication below). Backbone edits incorporated into public DeepLabCut repository (https://github.com/DeepLabCut/DeepLabCut).
