Investigated the contribution of uncertainty of initial conditions and boundary forcings to hydrological forecast predictability for The Netherlands. I used the NHI model coupled to a FEWS system. Ensemble runs consisting which resulted in a couple of thousand simulations were executed and analysed to investigate 'the memory' of a hydrological system. Analyses were performed for the unsaturated and groundwater zone as well as the surface waters.of The Netherlands.
As board member of the VVFG, my task was to contribute with several activities, for example excursions, symposia, lectures, etc.
For the third year bachelor course Fluid Mechanics I supervised students during the preparation practicals and the practicals itself. My job as a student assistant was to explain the experiments and the corresponding theory and support them while they were taking measurements. Next to that I assisted on the experiment of the Training dam project which was a collaboration between the WUR, Deltares and Rijkswaterstaat.
