About

I am a motivated and and passionate automotive and motorsport engineering student, aiming to do my best in everything I do. With experience in Formula One, Formula Student, and Greenpower, I have developed my industry knowledge, teamwork, communication and technical skills to enhance my engineering abilities. I find myself looking for new challenges regularly, either through competition (karting, Formula 1, Greenpower) or through my hobbies and personal goals (playing instruments, cycling) My goal is to have a career in the motorsports industry, where I can be pushed to become a better engineer and develop myself as a person.

Experience

  • Team Hare (4 yrs 6 mos)
    • Head of Combustion Car Design
      Sep 2025 - Present · 10 mos

Leading the design and development of Team HARE's combustion vehicle, paying particular attention to the optimisation of the water cooling system as part of a final year project.

    • Mechanical Design Engineer
      Jan 2022 - Sep 2025 · 3 yrs 9 mos

2023/24: - Led the design of the Tractive System Accumulator Casing, designed chassis mounting points, and considering strict regulatory and safety requirements. - Designed enclosures and mounts for all Low Voltage electronic components, PCBs, and batteries. - Worked as part of a team to design a test rig for the new electric powertrain that would be implemented on this year's car. 2021/22: - Worked with a team of students to design and optimise various components for Team HARE's electric concept car, including the seat, dashboard and nose cone. - Led the laptime simulation team, placing 8th at the competition.

  • ICE Mechanical Design Placement at Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology
    Jul 2024 - Aug 2025 · 1 yr 2 mos

Worked in the ICE Mechanical Design department to assist in the design of the 2026 F1 Power Unit. Designed components for a variety of systems, including cooling system, oil system, bottom end, and structural components. Also had opportunities to assist other departments with the design of test rigs, tooling, and fixtures when needed. Other roles included: - Conducting various fault investigations to determine root causes and create prompt fixes. - Communication with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure repeatable manufacture of parts. - Development of schematics for all PU fluid systems to assist with dyno and car integration. Key skills developed during the placement: - CAD Literacy - Drafting skills with GD&T - FE Analysis (NX Nastran) - Communication with colleagues as well as external suppliers - General DFM and DFA practices - Working within very short timeframes

  • Technical Director at HGP Racing
    Feb 2023 - Jun 2024 · 1 yr 5 mos

Oversaw the design, development and manufacturing processes for the university's Greenpower team, working with other students to create an electric race car. Projects: - Redesigned the rear axle and axle mount to reduce the rear track width to improve aerodynamic efficiency and reduce weight. - Designed a PC fan-powered cooling system for the motor to improve thermal efficiency, using SolidWorks CAD software to design a heatsink, shroud and mounts and thermal CFD analysis to analyse it's potential effectiveness. Created various technical drawings so it could be manufactured by machinists. In the race after the system was fitted we achieved our first podium. - Designed and co-ordinated the manufacture and assembly of new polymer bodywork that was significantly lighter and more aerodynamic than the existing aluminium body panels. - Used MATLAB to create a script that would allow the team to determine the correct gear ratio for the event, considering wind speed and hill inclines. Results: Aintree - P1 Blyton Park - P3 Goodwood International Finals - P6 Championship Standings - P3 (Kit Car)

  • Volunteer Team Member at Paddock Motorsport
    Sep 2022 - Sep 2022 · 1 mo

Assisted Paddock Motorsport for Rounds 19-22 of the GT Cup championship at Donington Park. Primarily involved tyre preparation for the GT4 cars - setting pressures, overseeing the tyre heaters and cleaning. Assisted in as many areas as possible, helping the team with whatever was required.

  • Work Experience at Ginetta Cars
