in my career: 1) Promote environmental restoration & conservation. 2) Build understanding the fate and transport of nutrients and contaminants in waterways. 3) Share in my passions with colleagues, learn from mentors and pass on what I can to future environmentalists.
Specialized in watershed and stormwater management, floodplain restoration and erosion prevention-sediment control design.
Evaluated mechanisms that drive the transport of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in forested headwater catchments. Published research exploring the opportunities and challenges in scaling nutrient transport models across catchments and regions
Assessed the source and transport of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the Sleepers River Watershed by use of in situ instruments and frequent sampling of stream and terrestrial hydrologic fuxes (e.g. shallow groundwater and overland flow). Worked with USGS hydrologists to generate a high spatial and temporal resolution record of the quantity and quality of DOC moving o the landscape into the stream.
