Introduction A consultancy and advisory company formed by a commercial and contracts manager with nearly thirty years’ experience in a wide variety of industries. For the last ten years I have primarily worked in the IT Services industry. I have undertaken freelance consultancy work for the last three years, primarily focusing on the review of proposed contract terms for SMEs to identify unfair, disproportionate or unacceptable terms. Where required, I can propose alternative terms with a commentary on why a compromise is necessary and reasonable for both parties. Advisory I provide support and guidance in best practice in commercial and contract management, which may include leveraging techniques I have experienced in other industries or larger organisations to enhance performance and optimise outcomes. Consultancy I also advise on the ongoing management of contracts after signature to help with the review of issues such as change control, delays, claims and scope creep. I can provide standard pre-populated templates for contract administration which are bespoke to the relevant terms. Examples include change requests, delay notices, service relief notices, acceptance certificates, milestone achievement certificates. Value Add I offer an obligation review service which will provide a tool for managing the delivery of obligations (ongoing, weekly, monthly annual, one off and triggered) over the lifetime of a contract. I can prepare contract handbooks for delivery and/or management staff that highlight key terms, ‘gotchas,’ pointers to the ongoing commercial management etc. on a short form easily referenced and plain language format. Small Business Support A number of my commissions have been working for SMEs who are increasingly seeing the benefit of good practice in contract management.
