Pyro Engineering is an independent engineering firm specialized in performance-based structural fire engineering. We support both existing structures and new constructions with efficient, safe, and economically optimized fire design solutions.
PhD subject: Performance-based analysis and design for enhancing the safety of prestressed concrete hollow-core slabs in case of fire and unforeseen events. Project objectives: (i) Quantification of the enhanced load-bearing capacity of hollow core floors, considering membrane action (see attachment) (ii) calculation and decision framework for hollow core floor systems with increased performance against unforeseen events (e.g. partial collapse, fire exposure) Teaching activities: Finite Element Applications in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis of Geotechnical Structures Services: Tests on products for the protection and repair of concrete structures
In the role of site engineer I was responsible for: - Follow up of the works and negotiation with several subcontractors - Long term planning and coordination of subcontractors - Review detailed design, critique and communicate with designers - Preparation of execution methods and technical datasheets - Preparation for purchasing of materials and subcontractors Projects: - Nemolink: HVDC Converter station - Vilvoorde railway station: renovation and execution of a new tunnel
