Medical Products & Therapies Clinical Nutrition - Sterility Assurance Research and Development My current responsibilities include participation in the development and optimization of sterilization processes for new and modified parenteral nutrition solutions and medical devices. I contribute to R&D activities supporting the company's margin improvement, ensuring enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness in product development. - Product and Process Development: Supported the development of new products and processes from a sterilization perspective, ensuring compliance with change control and contributing to product innovation. - Sterilization Testing: Coordinating microbiological and moist heat sterilization testing for medical devices and pharmaceutical R&D projects, ensuring high standards of product safety and efficacy. - Business Case Development: Developed comprehensive business cases for new and change-over products, providing strategic recommendations for sterilization activities to management and securing project approvals. - Project Management: Utilized Microsoft Project to plan, execute, and monitor project activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets. - Change Control Management: Managed change control processes using quality system (e.g, Trackwise), ensuring all changes were documented, reviewed, and approved in compliance with regulatory standards. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Worked with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to drive project completion and support continuous improvement initiatives. - Regulatory Compliance: Applied in-depth knowledge of GDP, SOPs, and pharmaceutical standards (ISO, AAMI, FDA) to ensure all projects met regulatory requirements.
Renal Care Research & Development - Sterility Assurance - New Product Development: support of medical device and pharmaceutical R&D projects. - Disinfection Processes: Contributed to the development and improvement of disinfection processes and microbial control strategies for dialysis systems, enhancing product safety and reliability. - Documentation and Reporting: Prepared detailed technical reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and validation protocols, ensuring clear and accurate documentation.
ULB Center for Diabetes Research "Type 1 Diabetes and Viruses" Study of coxsackievirus RNA modifications and their impact on viral fitness in pancreatic beta cells. Epigenetic RNA modifications could play an important role during viral infections. To better understand their impact, in the case of type 1 diabetes, I explored the significance of epitranscriptomic RNA modifications by modulating the activities of methylases and demethylases in EndoC-βH1 cells. Evaluation of viral replication, viral RNA/protein expression, and cytopathic effects of Coxsackievirus B strains. I have gained experience in transient transfection using siRNA, cell culture, viral titration, Western blot, qPCR, and electrophoresis.
