The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) is a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in deploying computer technology in architecture. Technology in Architectural Practice monitors the development of computer technology and its impact on architectural practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.
The AIALA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Subcommittee works with the Practice Committee to promote and accelerate digital transformation in the Architectural practice in the Los Angeles Area, connecting local communities through education, dialog, and adoption of disruptive technologies in the built environment.
As a Design Technology manager at the Los Angeles office in Gensler, the goal is to build a team of specialists focusing on researching new technologies and how best to integrate them into the design and delivery processes. Leveraging people + process + technology & data to allow us to develop the strategy and workflows based on design performance and shift management in architectural practice.
BIM Manager for Studios Work 1, Work 3, Work 4 (COB) and Branding Responsible for leading the creation and implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies, methodologies, and strategies. Work closely with stakeholders to develop document standards, processes, and protocols related to BIM. Provide leadership, technical expertise, and support. Assisted in defining the digital deliverables and ensuring they met contractual obligations. Provide training to elevate the studio's BIM knowledge. Develop productivity workflows to streamline the process. The integral role of the Design technology team is to explore and develop new tools and implement new technology and workflows.
•Responsible for leading the creation and implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies, methodologies, and strategies for an extensive Program. •Work closely with stakeholders to develop and document BIM standards, processes, and protocols. •Work with IT to implement and support BIM software and hardware. •Provide leadership, technical expertise, and support for the extended BIM team •Assist in defining the digital deliverables and ensuring they meet contractual obligations. Responsible for developing Design and Construction Documents, Interdiscipline coordination, review, coordination, and compliance for various Transit and Aviation projects. •As part of the construction administration team for selected projects, helped preserve design intent and problem-solving during the construction process.
