I'm an experienced HR, People Ops, Culture, and Talent Leader, former social worker, people person, and adventurer. I've put in a lot of elbow grease to build great teams and workplaces over the past several years, and I love being at the forefront of HR. I was the Head of People at Blueboard for 2 awesome years, VP of HR at Kickstarter for ~5 years of amazing growth, and more recently, I’ve enjoyed providing HR and Talent Consulting to a variety of startups and nonprofits. In addition, I've begun offering career coaching to individuals, which includes planning career transitions, managing difficult work situations, and navigating job searches. I’m skilled across all areas of the people function and passionate about building and scaling companies with positive, inspiring missions. I love creating functional people ops infrastructure and systems, supporting employees with empathy, and creating robust, effervescent cultures. I provide fractional HR and Talent support to the Trust Brigade team whose work toward flipping Colorado Congressional District 8 is near and dear to my heart.
Providing HR expertise to multiple individuals and organizations seeking support related to career transitions, executive coaching, cultural development in the workplace, professional growth opportunities, gnarly HR questions, and classic people operations projects. I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are embarking on career shifts and early stage organizations looking to build sustainable and people-oriented HR systems.
As a leader of the Horizon Deep Canvassing Project, I recruited, trained, and led volunteers in deep canvassing across Colorado Congressional District 8 in support of Yadira Caraveo, Kamala Harris, and other local candidates. Prepared materials, organized weekly community events with dozens of participants, researched voting issues, crafted messaging and communicated through several channels to inform, motivate, and educate volunteers. Gathered data and assisted in analysis confirming that our project's extraordinary approach and reach increased turnout by 14.5% in this election.
I'm lucky to have had this time for a sabbatical, enjoying some time out in the world and away from my computer. I've traveled and lived in at least a dozen different places for a month or so each, explored many outdoor wonders, read tons of books, picked up some new creative hobbies, and done awesome volunteer work with local trails and community organizations.
I oversaw all things people, culture, recruiting, DEI, and beyond at Blueboard. I even got to dabble a bit as a product evangelist and HR community coach by sharing learnings about meaningful rewards and recognition programs with other awesome HR leaders. In my 2 years with the team, I was delighted to help grow the size of the overall Blueboard team tremendously, provide empathetic people leadership through the COVID-19 pandemic, and build the HR function from scratch to become a powerful engine for good across the org.
