With a professional background that spans across entertainment, sports and philanthropy, Ngoc Nguyen is a Strategist who uniquely merges an expertise as a publicist and experience as a producer to impact culture through creative storytelling. Ngoc’s career began at film festivals in Austin, Texas followed by over a decade in publicity at Miramax Films, Creative Artists Agency, and Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles while, simultaneously, serving as a PR and talent relations consultant for major tennis events in Australia and New York including five seasons at the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. While continuing her work in publicity, Ngoc embarked on a journey that would take her to the other side of the entertainment industry — producing. As a filmmaker, Ngoc has produced numerous projects that center the voices of women and girls. Her first endeavor was the award-winning documentary, “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story,” which chronicled Lizzie’s journey from being labeled “Ugliest Woman in the World” to becoming one of the world’s most respected anti-bullying activists. Another deeply impactful project was Google’s “Power On” series, which Ngoc produced to inspire girls in STEAM fields. The five-part narrative series also provided opportunities for first time female directors on each project. Her most recent endeavor, "Everyone is Doing Great," which she produced alongside actors/creators, James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, can be seen worldwide on Hulu and Paramount+. From 2019-2022, Ngoc served as SVP and Head of Entertainment at TIME’S UP, a high-profile women’s advocacy organization where she oversees all strategy, talent relations, and programming, including initiatives that advocate for female directors, women in production, and underrepresented critics and journalists. Currently, Ngoc serves as a senior consultant to Acora Partners, a social impact firm, and other clients through her company Nguyen Strategies.
As the Founder/CEO of Nguyen Strategies, I provide unique and unparalleled leadership that encompasses over 20 years of expertise across entertainment, sports, activism and advocacy. Past clients include Google, U.S. Open, TEDx, Katie McGrath and J.J. Abrams Family Foundation, Bad Robot Productions, The Actor Awards, Taste of Tennis Australia, Producers Guild of America (PGA), SXSW, ATX TV Festival and The 19th News among others.
After producing Firework Foundation's largely successful "Light Up the Court" charity pickleball tournament, I expanded my role to Head of Strategy and Partnerships for the organization where I provide strategic leadership related to fundraising, brand partnerships, donor relations, and communications while also continuing my role as LUTC Event Producer.
As event producer for Katy Perry's Light Up the Court event, I lead fundraising, sponsorships, event production, celebrity engagement, VIP experiences for this annual pickleball tournament.
As a seasonal consultant who serves as part of the senior leadership team, I work directly with the producers, talent, media and Netflix, our distributor with a focus on marketing and PR strategy in addition to support with sponsors and digital media. Years include the 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st and 32nd annual awards shows.
"Everyone is Doing Great" is an independent TV comedy series. Season 1 has streamed on Hulu, Paramount Plus, Apple, Amazon Prime Video, Tubi and Roku. We are in post on Season 2.
