Apart of the First Cell Biology Program. Modeled Werner Syndrome using Saccharomyces cerevisiae by knocking out the WRN homolog, SGS1, with CRISPR/Cas9 to study genome instability and tumorigenesis. Gained hands-on experience in gene editing, microscopy-based phenotypic assays, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction, and plasmid design. Full manuscript and poster available upon request.
