SHPA Summer Research Student at Royal Melbourne Hospital - Use of REDCap for survey creation and data collation - Data analysis with pivot tools - Scientific report writing - project presentation to members of the RMH pharmacy department Partook in the collation and analysis of 3 projects: 1. "Who is agent other" - looking at the use of label "other" and it's frequency within the EMR system due to its implication on clinicians decision making. Following analysis, recommendations were also made for any recurrent reasons as to why "other" was used by clinicians. 2. Vancomycin AUC monitoring - looking at how vancomycin was being used in the ICU and the frequency of different post-prophylactic cultures to determine which patient population that implementation of AUC monitoring was required for. Reason behind this was to determine patient groups to trial DoseMe program that utilised a Bayesian model for AUC estimations. This project was presented as a poster for the Medicines Management 2024 Conference hosted in Adelaide (https://mm2024.shpa.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/137-FITZPATRICK-Catherine.pdf) 3. Transition of Gentamicin prophylaxis to Amikacin - to audit frequency of Gentamicin and Amikacin use following a transition of prophylactic guidelines due to increase in gentamicin resistant cultures post 48 hour culture results 05/06/2024 - Conducted a presentation to Monash students sharing my experiences surrounding this placement.
