Commercial vehicle powertrain development from concept phase to series production: - Requirements Engineering, Systems Engineering - Modeling, simulation, overall emissions and overall powertrain concept development - Calibration, validation, testing of components and systems - Test bench and vehicle measurements and validation - Diesel, alternative fuels, hybrid systems and electric powertrain solutions - Process and tool development - Type approval and homologation & post type approval / SOP support - Coordination of Commercial Vehicle Cross Functions within IAV for example, E-Mobility, CO2 Redcution & TCO Optimization - Coordination of international business development for Commercial Vehicle Powertrain and Diesel activities especially with Japan and the USA.
I was responsible for all IAV activities related to Diesel engine development from light duty pass car applications to large heavy duty engines on the North American market. - Coordination of all Diesel related development topics on the US market with the local team and all international Diesel activities coming from the US. - Management of the local US Diesel development department with full P&L responsibility - Coordination of engine test cells and component testing within the US facilities - Coordination of local sales and customer care support for IAV products sold to the US, e.g. IAV primero and IAV Cross. - Business development and customer strategy creation for US Heavy Duty customers and Light Duty Diesel customers. - Sync of processes, quality management, compliance activities amongst IAV's international entities
Within this Position I was responsible for powertrain / engine / emissions concepts for commercial applications at IAV. This included on-highway trucks as well as off highway applications, power generation, marine, rail, etc.
Responsible for engine testing activities within my commercial vehicle thermodynamics team.
Within this position I was responsible for the commercial vehicle engine airpath and turbocharger layout topics. Creation of a position paper for IAV's approach for different commercial applications and emissions limits Scenarios.
