As Program Manager for the Yale Conservation Scholars – Early Leadership Initiative at the Yale School of the Environment, I contribute to the development of programs that empower and support emerging environmental leaders. With over two years of experience in program development and qualitative research, my work focuses on advancing equity-centered approaches in environmental policy and leadership development. Collaborating across government, philanthropy, and academia, I have supported initiatives to address critical social and environmental challenges. My recent contributions include formulating principles for just grantmaking at The JPB Foundation and developing anti-gentrification strategies for the New Haven City Plan Department. Committed to fostering inclusion and transparency, I aim to shape programs that prioritize community engagement and sustainable impact.
Participated as a Summer Yale Environmental Fellow; Worked closely with the Environmental Health Portfolio and attended various meetings with grantees; Formulated principles for just grant-making centered around solidarity, positionality, partnership, and transparency for the Environment Team; Formed meeting facilitation and decision-making strategies that most aligned with the Environment Team; Led and facilitated focus groups; Conducted a literature review; Conducted analysis from focus groups, models, and literature review to inform principles; Developed a summer newsletter sent to grantees and other partners; Cultivated understanding and familiarity with grant management software i.e. Fluxx; Awarded and managed a grant to an organization of my choice
Developed a policy brief on anti-gentrification strategies; Researched and analyzed local development projects, zoning regulations, housing trends, and displacement patterns to assess their impact on residents; Evaluated affordable housing policies, tenant protections, and inclusionary zoning practices; Researched best practices from peer cities and national case studies on housing affordability and neighborhood stabilization
Our research has focused on making all sectors of the environmental movement accessible to members of underrepresented communities. We focus on the following research themes: Transparency and Perspectives, Environmental Justice, Food Access, Race and Nature, and Green Jobs.
Identify clients' requirements and expectations for each programming event.; Brainstorm and implement event concepts and themes.; Moderate, facilitate, and lead creative sessions and panels; Research relevant to topics associated to COP27.; Organize and relationship-build with speakers.; Coordinate all logistical elements of the events (panels, workshops, and creative sessions).; Manage set-up, tear-down, and clean-up operations.; Anticipate attendee needs and make preparations against potential risks.; Develop post-event reports on the effectiveness of each event.
