Last week, I started my first-year master's research internship at the Amsterdam Centre for World Food Studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. My research focuses on food security in Small Island Developing States (SIDS), with a particular emphasis on the underlying drivers and challenges of both overnutrition and undernutrition in the context of food security in Suriname. As part of the qualitative component of my study, I will conduct field research in Paramaribo, Suriname, where I will conduct interviews with local experts in the field. I am eager to gain hands-on experience in fieldwork and deepen my understanding of this research area.
