I'm a "contemporary representational" painter, illustrator and textile/surface designer. I've been a professional artist for over 20 years and had the opportunity to study with some of the truly great artists in the US. Illustration was a happy accident of fate when I was asked by an editor friend to take on one of her clients' children's book. To date, I've illustrated five children's books. Surface and textile design has been a passion forever and I've just recently begun addressing it more seriously. My art resume includes having been Founding Director of the Richeson School of Art & Gallery, as well as the Richeson75 International Art Competitions from late 2003 to 2015 when I "retired" to concentrate on art and design. I have fine art and commissioned art in government, corporate and private collections throughout the US and in Great Britain. I hold a degree in Industrial Model Design and Construction. My paintings can be described as "contemporary representational" an are hallmarked by confident use of color, motion and texture. I also enjoy forays into abstraction and abstracted realism. I truly enjoy working with clients on design and illustration jobs, home and corporate art commissions/sales that will enhance the corporate aesthetic environment and contribute to the atmosphere of the firm's corporate culture; I have licensed artwork for reproduction and use in decor and other industries. Specialties: Illustration, surface/textile design and fine contemporary representational art - portrait, figurative (much with ethnic / multicultural themes), still life: Abstract and abstracted realism as well.
