The Secretary is responsible for supporting the Board and its Chair and Vice Chair(s) and ensure that the Board is acting in accordance with the Bylaws; serve as a liaison between the Board, the administration, and the campus; provide oversight to ensure that campus policies and procedures are in alignment with Board governance; publicly represent the Board or its Officers when appropriate; record and maintain the minutes, statements, and official records of the Board and its committees; provide oversight to ensure that campus policies and procedures are in alignment with Board governance; and publicly represent the Board or its Officers when appropriate. In addition: - Drove operational support for the Hampshire Presidential Search Committee April 2025 - October 2025. - Serve as one of four designated officers of the College and act as signatory on legal documents, maintaining proper records regarding Board of Trustees governance and compliance. - Act as liaison between the Board and various constituencies, including running elections to populate Board of Trustees committees. - Document bylaws amendments, and update official records with the Secretary of the Commonwealth. - Assist the Hampshire Advancement Team in documenting and recording gifts to the College and work with the Chief Advancement Officer. - Work with the Alumni & Family Relations team to serve the alumni constituency. -Assist the senior leadership team and the Board of Trustees with organizing a teach-out and wind-down of the College.
Oversee the marketing of ArtsArlington.org, along with its arts and culture calendar. Implement the marketing and promotions activities for the Arlington Commission for Arts & Culture (ACAC). Help promote Arlington as an arts & culture destination.
Appointed to Amherst Public Art Commission in October 2022
Presided over all organization meetings and represented Hardy PTO at community functions in Arlington. Recruited a dedicated group of volunteers and supported them in fundraising & community-building events that built positive connections in our school. Changed bylaws to break down barriers to involvement and volunteering, and increased the visibility of Hardy PTO. Worked with teachers, administrators, parents and vendors to strategize PTO spending.
Communicated with all areas of Arisia staff and corporate members to strategize the best way to handle staff hiring, conflict resolution, legacy of information issues, and documentation of processes. Devised and operated an Onboarding Process for all staff for Arisia. Helped resolve interpersonal conflicts, and retain volunteers through appreciation and an atmosphere of respect. Edited and promoted a Staff Handbook to help guide new and existing staff as they volunteer their efforts toward running Arisia. Helped revise our Convention Code of Conduct to bring it inline with our fandom's and our culture's expectations. Collaborated with Boston Area Rape Crisis Center to provide a series of trainings for our convention staff to teach about the prevalence of sexual abuse and harassment, and how to respond in the case of a reported incident.
