I grew up in the printing business as the oldest of 15 kids -- My parents owned a small country weekly newspaper and print shop and when you got to be 10-12 years old you better be down there and working at night and weekends! Out of 14 of us -- 10 are in the business; some newspaper, some in graphic design and a few own their own printing companies. My wife, Mary Kay and I purchased Sun Graphics, a print shop established in 1924, in October of 1989 and have now owned the business for more than 24 years. When we purchased the company it had one employee a old printer that came with it and we had to keep him on for slightly more than a year and one/half till he retired at 65. We now have 10 employees besides ourselves working in the business. A production manager, two designers, a customer service person, two offset pressman, three people in bindery and a part-time delivery person. Our printing is done both with two large xerox digital presses and four offset presses, a four color, 2- two-color presses and a single color. We have the full range of bindery and mailing equipment.
Our main focus is printing--from small business cards to full color catalogs. We also have a full service and self service copying machines-- Our specialty is newsletters we handle everything from design to printing to mailing. We have also developed a niche market in designing and printing special business cards from full color with UV (plastic) coating to a same day --quick-print. For larger companies we have a special business card program that will fit all your needs.
