About

Teri has decades of social work experience in medical settings including hospice, Neonatal ICU, high risk OB, ER/trauma center, home health and skilled nursing facilities. In addition she has over 15 years’ experience providing therapy in settings including Employee Assistance Counseling (EAP), individual, family and couples counseling as well as grief work. Her roles include providing direct services, program development and clinical supervision. Teri is a national speaker and professional writer on topics including chronic/terminal illness, grief, end-of-life care planning and healthcare decision-making as well as professional and family caregiving. Teri has written a patient supportive/educational booklet (Making the Most of Ever Moment - A Patient’s Guide to Living with Hospice), published by Limbertwig Press, which is in use by hospices throughout the country. In addition to many articles in local publications, Teri has written several articles on counseling patients at the end of life which were published in the national hospice professionals' publication (National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Newsline). Teri’s expertise on end of life care and grief is exemplified by her being sought by CNN for expert commentary on community grief following a nationally publicized Modesto homicide.
