I am a passionate,collaborative and flexible teacher, teacher trainer and trainer trainer as well as a life-long learner. My chief objectives have always been to help learners, from young children to adults, not only to be able to learn effectively but also to learn with curiosity and recognition of their potential impact as world citizens. Motivating myself and others is one of my key strengths. As a trilingual/tricultural educator with over 40 years of extensive, first-hand experience of working in scores of countries in Central and Western Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with teachers and educational leaders, I can often see challenges from multiple perspectives which helps me offer solutions to educational and communicational issues that can often hinder learning.
As of September 2014 I am working 100% for Macmillan Education in the Southern European Region (Turkey, Greece & N.Cyprus) as a Teacher Trainer/Trainer Trainer and ELT Consultant for all levels of the private education sector. My brief also includes preparing seminar and workshop materials for the company and delivering webinars, conference talks and seminars for parents. From 2012 to 2014 50% of my time was devoted to training Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level ELT teachers in Turkey, Greece & Cyprus and 50% to training for Macmillan Education in other countries. I have been on training tours to Austria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan,Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Malta, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine. I was also Group Leader on the Georgia Primary and Secondary National State Teacher Education Project which started in 2011 and is still running.
My post at British Side involved providing methodology updates and in-service training to ELT teachers at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels all over Turkey and specifically to help teachers to prepare their students for Cambridge ESOL Examinations. I also worked as an approved Cambridge ESOL Assessor.
Co-ordinating the Oxford Teachers' Academy (OTA) Programme for the Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa region (CAMENA) and liaising with OUP UK regarding the running and development of this programme. Writing and editing training materials for the OTA Programme worldwide. Delivering OTA certificated courses, teacher training and trainer training seminars and workshops in Turkey and the CAMENA region. Providing OUP product-based or generic Teacher Training Workshops and programmes for CPD worldwide. Delivering educational seminars for school parents to strengthen the Parent-School Link.
