I am a Principal Engineer leading coastal development and land reclamation programmes, with a focus on integrating infrastructure delivery with environmental sustainability and climate resilience. My work sits at the intersection of engineering execution, environmental governance, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Over the past decade, I have developed expertise in environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring and management planning (EMMP), and biodiversity-related engineering approaches that enhance environmental outcomes while maintaining project buildability and delivery certainty. I work closely with multidisciplinary project teams comprising government agencies, engineering and specialist consultants, contractors, and environmental stakeholders to collectively manage programme risks, cost and schedule performance, environmental compliance, and stakeholder communications — including engagement with the local nature community. A key aspect of my role involves fostering collaboration across technical teams and research institutions to translate field experience and scientific research into practical standards, engineering methods, and repeatable solutions that can be implemented and scaled across coastal infrastructure programmes. I am particularly interested in advancing collaborative, nature-based and hybrid coastal solutions that strengthen long-term climate adaptation for urban shorelines. Outside of engineering, I have interests in art, dogs, and health & fitness.
▪ Collaboration and project coordination across multiple stakeholders (external agencies, multi-disciplinary engineering consultants, specialist consultants and contractors) to accomplish construction budgetary control and progress from planning to execution, including environmental sustainability, monitoring and management for offshore coastal projects. ▪ Direct multi-disciplinary technical decision-making across coastal engineering, environmental monitoring, and construction methods; document decisions and trade-offs to support approvals and stakeholder confidence. ▪ Finding balance between construction development progress, value of solutions and sustainable environmental threshold requirements. ▪ Successful completion of public engagement for environmental studies with local nature community, by understanding of stakeholders’ interest to achieve positive communication. ▪ Mentor and lead engineers/officers, setting technical standards, review discipline, and interface management practices across concurrent workstreams. ▪ Team Lead: Collaboration with National Research University for Research & Development on sustainable biodiversity engineering solutions.
▪ Collaborated and coordinated between external stakeholders (Inter-agencies counterparts, multi-disciplinary engineering consultants, specialist consultants and contractors) to execute project planning, budgetary control, and environmental sustainability studies for coastal projects ▪ Team Lead: Collaborated with National Research University for Research & Development on biodiversity engineering solutions.
▪ Collaborated with external stakeholders (inter-disciplinary consultants, specialists and contractors) for the successful implementation and completion of key coastal development projects that fulfilled environmental receptors. The projects also involved the implementation of the first Smart Staging Ground in Singapore for the innovative reuse and transformation of excavated earth generated from the construction industry for the sustainable creation of new land.
(1) Team Leader for Tuas View Extension EMMP: ▪ Collaborated with Internal and External Partners to ensure compliance of Environmental Management and Monitoring objectives determined for the project. ▪ Completed and validated the set up of DHI MIKE21 Numerical model for the project. ▪ Review Technical EMMP reports (2) Executed overseas EIA and local EIS for infrastructure and coastal development projects. (3) Explored Business Development opportunities involving Statutory Board & Private Companies. This involved the review of companies' water demands in their operation processes and to obtain the funding for water efficiency.
▪ Produced local potable water networks scenarios simulations. ▪ Collaborated with agencies and internal/external partners for: - Tender evaluation and execution of Masterplan Study - Flood and Urban Systems Workshops - Singapore International Water Week 2011 (South East Asia Water Ministers Forum).
▪ Planned and designed solutions for sustainable storm water, water supply, sewerage, earthworks infrastructure for overseas master planning projects in Africa, Brunei, China and Vietnam. ▪ Completed simulation models set up for local PUB's Active, Beautiful, Clean (ABC) projects and overseas development projects using StormNet and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 to assess the technical design within tight project timelines.
