Terence Holman, Ph.D., P.E., is a Senior Principal Engineer with Geosyntec Consultants with 30 years of professional experience focused on the areas of: geotechnical and structural engineering; design; construction management; specialty geotechnical construction; heavy-civil construction; and environmental demolition. Dr. Holman’s technical expertise, developed through his career as a geotechnical engineer, specialty contractor, and construction manager, extends across the spectrum of design and construction, encompassing: shallow and deep foundations for stadiums, airports, large public assembly areas, large bridge projects, commercial, industrial, institutional, and power plant structures; deep excavations in soft ground; construction dewatering; ground improvement; high seismic hazard areas; working platforms for heavy crane lifts and large equipment; temporary structures; shafts, tunnels, and launching pits; heavy environmental demolition; CQA-CQC; and construction claims and litigation. Terry’s industry leadership includes serving as an elected member of The Moles, a member of the International Association of Foundation Drilling (ADSC), and active membership in DFI, ASCE, the Geo-Institute, and the Structural Engineering Institute. He currently serves as the Co-Chair of the joint ADSC-DFI Working Platforms Group. He has also served as Chair of the joint ADSC-DFI Micropile Committee, Chair of the DFI Tiebacks and Soil Nailing Committee, and Chair of the ASCE Metropolitan Section Geotechnical Group in New York, New York. Terry is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Holman is a registered professional engineer in CO, FL, GA, IL, MI, MO, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA. Specialties: (i) geostructural consultation services for the most challenging projects; (ii) realistic evaluation of construction risk and mitigation mechanisms; and (iii) technical and construction management of high-risk designs, project development elements, peer review, and permitting processes.
